Lucky you! A long wait, but it should be worth it. What sumpguard are you fitting? (Apologies if it's mentioned earlier in the thread - I haven't looked back).
To be honest, I've no idea what Sump Guard is being fitted - my dealer pretty much said he wouldn't let me drive it without it being fitted! I believe he may have sourced one through a 'pet' engineer local to him.
Maybe it's the Wolf one that I have fitted. It's certainly doing the trick for mine and makes me feel the sump is safer.
It's incredibly easy to damage the sump plug - which could lead to a fairly catastrophic engine problem. Definitely worth having.
Please let us know what they fit. The Wolf one looks good, and Neil endorses it, which is encouraging, but I'm interested to know if there are alternatives. I agree the sump plug is very vulnerable, but clearance is better than the cross member on the 3.7 Roadster, and I've yet to touch anything with it (touch wood). The tow eye under the nearside front makes contact first so gives me a warning!

Taking a positive outlook..... Maybe it is not a bad thing that there have been delays. If there were issues being found then isn't it better to sort them before customer delivery? I think the M3W suffered a bit of this so hopefully MMC have made a positive move. Let's hope it filters down from the "flagship" car to all models. The only real issue I see though is a lack of communication to buyers. Publicised delays might have created negativity but if done correctly then no real issue. The car is growing on me having had a good look at one in the flesh.

Will do, although what I do know its costing £400 including fitting but excluding VAT!
To the best of my knowledge this is the only option. Apart from the sump plug the plastic oil filter also needs protecting I know of a case when the oil filter grounded and smashed. The other point to mention is the oil lift pipe is directly above the sump plug so if hit the plug you can close the gap between the sump and lift pipe.

Here's a couple of photos - not great quality but it's a fairly robust looking thing fixed to chassis....
