Now, I admit this seems to go against the grain as all that I've googled seems to revolve around swapping from steels to the preferable wires but...
How difficult would it be to swap from a current 4/4 with wires to steel wheels, assuming I had a set of recent (2006) steels to hand. I guess hub adapters required, would brakes etc. also need changing? Any idea of costs involved. Will ask Morgan, but as I'm still waiting for a response to a question I asked them eight weeks ago I'm not holding my breath!

Assuming you can get a set of 70th Anniversary wheels and hub caps (which, the last I heard are NLA from Morgan) you will need:-

Front and rear 5 stud hubs (you may be able to reuse the old wheel bearings on the front as they are the same on both wire wheel and 5 stud cars, but you will need new grease seals)
The hexagonal caps that screw into the front hubs to keep the grease in and the dirt out...
New brake caliper brackets as the brake caliper offset is different.
New brake disc mounting bolts as you will destroy the old ones getting them off
New 5 stud rear brake drums

Cain (Wolf Racing) sells the aluminium 5 stud front hubs, that I designed when I was at Mulfab. These may be a cheaper option than the factory front hubs.

I believe Simon to be correct regarding the Anniversary Wheels being No Longer Available.

An alternative wheel choice may be Minilite alloys, maybe? Williams have a 4/4 up for sale with centre lock Minilites on. They'd give you prices and availability on them, I'm sure.

Thanks Simon, quite a shopping list! Probably not top priority at the moment as I'm still not 100 percent sure when they're starting my car, opinions vary from Dec 5th to 12th. I was intrigued though as there is a Tmer selling a set of four and I do much prefer the non-wire look (and I'm not one for cleaning cars!)

I think the 70th 4/4 had the wings cut slightly wider to accommodate the extra wheel width. Take a look at the headlight to cowl gap on a 70th.

I have a set of 4 anniversary wheels for sale and the cream 4/4 at williams has bolt on minilites, (i put them on)

Interesting thread. I've got wires and got them for the classic look. However, I really like the look of the steel wheels but it does sound like a bit of an expensive change. Would be easier to clean as well.

Are the 80th wheels available to buy?... I asked Morgan but as usual no response.

I would consider a set fitted with alternative tyres for a change on my 2014 4/4

I seem to recall somebody asking if they could have a spare - and they couldn't, but I can't remember who that was.

As far as the 80th wheels go, well that would be ideal. Bet they won't sell them though!
