Had the same happen. The smell obviously permeated the passenger footwell for a while as the dog would head straight down there until I'd scrubbed the remains off the underside of the car.

If I collect a rabbit on the road, then I take them home as a treat for my two working Jack Russells, nice treat for them and keeps them keen and keeps the food cost down.

Mind you, we've had an outbreak of myxi in our locality so unfortunately the kindest thing you can do its to put them out of their suffering.

Hit a deer a few years ago. Very lucky that I walked away and it didn't. It ducked its head due to the LED headlamps and went under the right front tire. In doing so the headlamp bucket was knocked off and a small ding on the fender. Killed the deer. I should be dead.

Almost hit a black bear at night but due to the LED brights I actually saw him! He was as scared of me as I was of hitting him!

Where I live borders on a very large tract of the Green Mountain Forest where many things live. Sometimes they come out to play...

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

Hadn't thought about the smell. Good thing to consider. I was worried I wouldn't clear the raccoon and it would bounce along, or hitting it with a front tire would send me off the road.

My wife "hit" a horse many years back. She had slowed right down as the horse was in front of her. The horse tuned down a side road but as she went past the horse it backed up and reared up and fell on her car taking out the bonnet, windscreen, A pillar, wing and door, luckily the horse was insured and covered the cost of repairs.

I ran over a load of fresh cow poo last summer, it went up from the front wheel into the engine, where it flash dried on the hot bits and stuck like glue. Took me weeks to get rid of it all and the smell lingered even longer!
