Yeah and nuts the size of a bull.

Not accounting for wind or any other variations to hit 160mph in one of these with stock gearing you'd need to hit 7000 RPM I think you'd need a little more help than just the roller rockers.

That said, have you taken yours up to the limit with the roller rockers installed, or would that also require flashing the ECU for a higher rev limiter. Not sure if once the ECU is unlocked after the initial bedding in window if it just bumps the limiter or removes it all together.

I'm still running stock, I'm just planning out an upgrade path by next spring.

Also to clarify, my goals are get top speed up to 160mph, and at least double the tank size. I plan on ripping out the storage in the back and replacing with a new tank.

Been there, done that.

2006 Midland Speed Championship class 7 winner.
Hareweood Hillclimb course record held for 2 years.

10 years out of the saddle tends to slow you down a bit though.

Its all down to time and money. More of each please in equal quantities.

re top speed , good luck , brave man
re tank - are you planning removing the existing panniers and fitting a single tank in the luggage space , or having all three?

To save weight I would be going with just a new central one though I doubt you will get the capacity of the panniers. Very interesting non the less. I can imagine a large motorbike tank directly under the existing filler and keeping the existing clam shell boot lid to hide it which would save weight ( i am presuming those existing tanks are heavy ) and make useful room around the bevel box for maintenance etc

Aerodynamics and down force are not in your favor to get up to 160MPH. Not only that, but I would make sure whatever tires you are using can handle such speeds. I would also suggest having a real roll cage made instead of roll hoops which provide nearly no protection whatsoever.

A US gallon of gas weighs in at 6.3#/gal.

Adding another 65# to 70# over the rear wheel could have some bad mojo on the handling of the M3W.

In 19" tires, I highly doubt you'll get anywhere near that type of speed rating. If you swapped out to 18" front, you may be able to get tires rated that high. The rear tire may also be problem as that size tire is usually not used on cars that could get anywhere near that speed, so tire manufacturers won't spend the money making a tire that no one can use.

I do wish you lots of luck. I also agree with the full on roll cage as a protector, just in case.

I could see you going to TX where they run that speed thing on the closed freeway of something like that. You'll need a very long run at this.

Here's a VERY simple speed, rpm, tire, ratio calculator.

Enter in the 6000 rpm, 25" tire dia, 160 mph and it tells me that I need a 2.79 final drive ratio. That probably isn't too far off actually.

I suspect I'll go with an entirely new one. Removing the old ones also potentially gives me the ability to have a bigger rear wheel. Not sure if it's feasible, but I'd like to have the tank molded to the shape of the clamshell, and be removable via quick connect fittings to get access to the wheel in a pinch
