Is a 90 angle at the end such a great idea?
Wouldn't it be better to get a smoother exit, I thought that getting the flow better was the intention. But if your tight for space then I guess your stumped.

I must say I've thought about it too.
The only difference in what I've been thinking about is the bend would be tighter than the Librand's offering. The components are standard items from an exhaust part supplier (Jetex) so I've largely put that concern to the back of my mind. Also, there's nothing further to restrict the gases....
I'll probably wait until the new year before doing anything.

Reading through this thread a couple of very bizarre thought came into my mind.... First, Instead of rear side exit pipes how about front side exit pipes? It would need new silencers but there is enough room under the Aero wing to run a pipe and slim profile silencer to the back and then return, exiting through the wing side just behind the louvres... Then, even more strange, a top exit exhaust..run the pipe up through the running board and curve parallel to the rear wing to end at the top of the wing. The pipe would have to be polished mirror bright... and I'm not sure if there would be enough space between the wing and door, though. But it could look and sound amazing, with the pipe exiting at shoulder level about a foot from the drivers head. Not sure where these thoughts came from....

There were examples like those at the VHRA event on Pendine Sands...... Some didn't even bother with manifolds let alone pipes of some description. I will take earplugs next year.....

Perhaps you spent too much time looking at tanks the other Saturday?

I had a small stainless rear box welded to my +4 4 seater as I prefer a richer sounding exhaust. It cost me £60 from a specialist stainless exhaust garage and the silencer was the same manufacturer as the original system. I have used Powerflow for previous Morgans and have found the welders excellent plus they have the equipment to bend and cut to your requirements. Custom Exhausts come up on Google in your area and they show side exhausts on their website.

Just My Take. I live in a quiet neighborhood and must pull a rather steep hill. I work hard at keeping My Morgans as quiet as possible. BLAT! BLAT! does not cut it. Basicly use the oval muffler (I can fit it) and the sound is good, but quiet.
