Some plates in Australia especially original numbers still available command ridiculous prices

I have a few MOG related plates and a few non MOG personalised. All but two bought direct from DVLA website. One from the DVLA auction at the Morgan factory and one from a plate dealer.

The one I bought from a plate dealer was advertised at £18,000 but he auctioned it and I got it for £4k. Still a bit expensive for a bit of vanity (my US motorbikes have generally had vanity plates for the grand total of $25 a year!)

The bargains were probably the 2 MOG 3 wheeler plates at £250 each including EV03MOG for when it eventually goes into production :-)

I bought P7 APR years ago, it is Peter 7 April, my birthday.

The only other plate I'd ever buy is PJ 1 and the last time that changed hands it went for more than the value of my house at the time. So unlikely!

Plenty of current style "MOG" plates available direct from the DVLA. For example AA10 MOG for £250.

When I bought my first Plus 4 the number I wanted was quite expensive (from the DVLA) as it related to the, then, current year. I waited until the plates changed and just over 6 months later and the price came down significantly. That doesn't appear to be the case now as the older plates seem to be the same price as the current ones.

Just bought AA17MOG from DVLA for £390. Going to look good on 4/4.
Unfortunately Mog build has been bought forward - been today to see just before paint shop?. Should have been end of Jan?? Going to be in garage for a month not allowed on the road????

Did someone say for certain they'd get it through paint, trim, & quality control before the Christmas shutdown?

If so, that's some sort of record, I think?

Your '17 plate is probably safe!

With the potential for competition from Audi A3 owners, I was pleasantly surprised to snag A3 ROM for a 3 figure sum - from a trader.
