Just waved goodbye to my Plus4. Bob, that was quick and unexpected. It seems no time at all since we returned from the Czech Republic and Slovenia. Does the new owner realise what a well travelled car they've bought? It's a pity we had to shelve the trip around the USA. I trust you didn't include the Nordkapp badge in the sale.

Ken Perish the thought. The Nordkapp and Punta de Tarifa badges await a new badge bar and alternative vehicle.

A good move to keep both badges though, even if you just end up displaying them in your trophy cabinet.

I dont see the point in buying a car and then putting it in an air conditioned bunker until you sell it on to the next owner to put into his bunker. Some will say that its an investment but if you can afford to buy the car in the first place why do you need an investment? It isnt even as pretty as a 488

Well you could go for the little sister, the Alfa Romeo 4C. or if a closer inspection is required

Why have you shelved a trip around the USA? What had you planned?

Hi Bobar,
I sold my Plus 4 last year and replaced it with a Merc 200 SLK AMG.
It has the 7 speed auto box but it has sport mode (blips throttle on downchanges!) and manual plus flappy paddles.
Being AMG variant it has lowered sports suspension giving a nice firm ride.
So far I have not missed the Plus 4 (apart from all the problems I had with it) and am really enjoying driving the SLK.
There are plenty of good alternatives out there, I went for the SLK because of its looks, auto box, solid roof and build quality, it was 2 years old with 12000 miles and half the price of the Plus 4, it's quicker, better on fuel, cheaper to insure, cheaper to service and having a boot it's useable on touring holidays.
Have fun looking for your replacement.
