That's indeed a very positive outcome.It sadly didn't reach the Belgian papers. It wasn't my intention to highlight the deadly accident, but simply the fact that one has to be careful when using those modern techniques.

I'm so pleased, my mischevious side is well satisfied (no apologies for poor grammar). What I find interesting is that you think you will be able to decide whether or not to use the facility, or that you will be able to use old type vehicles that are controlled through a human interface on the future.

An interesting thread Adrian but it will be a last resort for me and anyone else that has the remotest interest in driving.
Someone mentioned about pc crashing well I just hope they don't fly often because without them onboard nobody would take off. Somehow I dont think the technology in a 30k car will match that in a $390 million jet even if a 1.5 tonne car could carry the same weight as a 330 tonne jet.

And a month or so later, in August of this year a guy was driving his Tesla Model X and suffered a pulmonary embolism. The car was able to drive him down the freeway to the nearest hospital, saving his life.
I wonder how true that is ie how much spin and pr there is in the story.

I would like a combination.
For my normal driving day to day I want the idiot at the control to be me.
When I am driving into London I would like to be able to hang up the steering wheel when I hit the M4 raised section and traffic. This combined with real time traffic stuff and moving cars as convoys should have some benefit. More so than the fabled congestion charge I suspect.
I would like to drive to a pub for meeting friends. I would like to get drunk and let it drive me home.
If I work late and drive home tired it should take over for me. Possibly also playing soothing whale music and giving me a back massage. Possibly dispensing a Gin & Tonic. I see a whole new list of options being created by car manufacturers once this goes big....espresso machines, beer pump, microwave.
I would like my insurance to come down as a result of the opportunity.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Absolutely! Change is inevitable, and it's quite possible that the traditional forms of driving we currently love will become impractical, whether through rising costs, increasing legislation, increasing traffic congestion, or any combination thereof. The way I see it, we can either moan about it and get depressed, or we can enjoy it while we can and embrace the changes and new opportunities as they arise.
