When I bought the Aero from Newtown last year it came with a warranty from a company called WMS. Needless to say it has not been needed in my first 15 months of ownership, so I had forgotten it until a renewal arrived. £750 for next 12 months.
Any experience of this company and its warranties?
Thanks.

Read the policy back to front, because sure as eggs are eggs there will be exclusions that will disapoint you if you have to claim and experience them.

Will you pay another 750 pounds next year?
If no VALID claims, you could have 1500 pounds in your car maintenance fund.

Maybe I should have known - but recently discovered my policy does not cover "mechanical failures".

That was be a big exclusion in my case.

Good Luck

Not had one on a Morgan , but have received them when buying other second hand vehicles. I think they are more to protect the seller than to benefit to the buyer.

The only time I tried to claim (intercooler on a Mazda 6 diesel) it was rejected as not being covered, although it was supposed to include the drive train components. My (admittedly limited) experience is that they are rarely worthwhile.

When I purchased my Morgan it came with a warranty from Warranty Wise backed by Quentin Willson. It was their top package offering cover for all electrical or mechanical failures. At the end of the piriod the only issue I had with the car was a faulty radiator tap. Unfortunately WW said that a tap was not a mechanical item and was therefore not covered. Anyway after escalating this with many correspondents I eventually got to talk to Mr Willson himself as arbitrator. He granted me 20 quid to shut me up but I had to fit the tap myself. I chose not to renew the insurance.

Read all the very small print before handing over any money.

Thanks for comments, everyone.
Very helpful.
I won't be renewing. I may regret it, but if anything goes wrong I have very good Morgan dealers like Newtown and Williams to fix it, and if it is very expensive I'll at least have a £750 down payment.
spend

Interesting thread.
For anyone buying a new or late used car (non-Morgan) be aware there is a considerable mark-up on these Warranties.

Sellers try to use them to divert you away from their legal liability for the car they have sold by pretending that this "guarantee" is all they are responsible for.
