In the Morgan options list there is two options for shocks. The suplex option and a less expensive option around 500 pounds called adjustable shocks or something like that. Can anyone provide their views of the two shock options? I appreciate any color.

Does the suplex option come with their springs as this would be the softer sprung option for the front anyway !

The Spax adjustables are pretty good, there have been issues with the Suplex shocks regarding clearance at the front and mechanical reliabiity.

Cant fault the Spax adjustables much better than the stock ones although it would be nice to try a car fitted with these and then one fitted with the Ohlins back to back to see the difference.

Also very happy with the Spax adjustables. Makes for a good road set up along with the Empire suspension kit and Blockley tyres.

Snap! and a +1 for the Spax. I have Ohlins on another car so know how good they are, but for now I'm more than happy with the ride/handling balance of my (ultimately compromised by design anyway) tricycle!

Calum,

Didn't you have an issue with your Suplex shocks? Didn't one of the shaft ends unscrew while you were driving and ruin the rod and shock end?

I just seem to remember that happening and I thought it was you that it happened to.

Was the shock fixed/replaced by Suplex? Was there a preventive measure to do to the Suplex to prevent the unscrewing of the shock rod from the rod end?

I know, lots of questions, but inquiring minds would like to know.

Again, I love your photo album. I keep going into it and seeing all the new photos. Great work.

Yes it was me that had the top of the Suplex unscrew as did Mario. After a long email exchange with Suplex and MMC, mainly about engineering design, quality control and how threaded fasteners behave under cyclic axial loading in a fairly high vibration environment MMC refunded me for the cost of the front shocks. I had long since been refunded for the rear shocks.
Let's just say that I am not a fan of Suplex and even less a fan of B.A.D. who manufactured the shocks.
