How many 4'4's are out there in TM land fitted with Twin Fillers ? It's just my 4/4, which I am in the process of re-building, has got Twin Fillers and I have only seen one other 4/4 with the same configuration of filler, which leads to my second question, why have Twin Fillers in the first place ? I assume it's a aesthetic thing , as you can easily and safely route the pump hose around the rear of the car when filling. I have included a build picture of my 4/4 taken back in 1982 showing the fillers mentioned

Much quicker fill - open both caps... Never noticed twin fillers on any Morgan except +8 - learn something new every day!

You lucky lad I thought about having them on mine , its the slowest filling car on the road . Due to the air pressure ,If I press the petrol pump lever a bit to hard it gushes back . So I stand and say sorry to anyone behind me , no one as yet played hell . You can open both fillers and shoot the petrol away as fast as you want. No air pressure . Also pull in and side of a pump . I will change it to Lucky bugger .

I thought it was only an option on the +8. Jags in the 70's also had them. It may fill faster but does it mean when you have filled the tank it just comes out the other filler cap?

Pity it's petrol where the vapour is the dangerous bit, otherwise you could have a self regulating bleed valve on the tank.

Could do with twin fillers to stop petrol spewing out if one overdoes the trigger on the fuel hose !

Almost all +4s that raced in the 60s , especially those involved in longer distance events had twin fillers.
It certainly fills a lot faster , and I have never found it exiting from the other filler in road use. After putting in almost 20 gallons (85 litres) I tended to suffer from acute financial shock!
I think almost all early +8s had twin fillers, but I am not sure just how long this was standard or an option.

Thank you all for the feed back regarding 4/4 Twin Fillers and I can understand that using both filler caps would allow a faster fill rate, however my only concern would be the need to strictly monitor the amount of fuel going into the tank to avoid fuel shooting out of the side acting as a breather when the tank was full. Not a particularly safe situation when filling from the opposite side to the exhaust which could result in fuel being sent cascading down the rear panel on to a hot Tail Pipe. So far no reply's to my question about the existence of any other 4/4's with Twin Fillers, surely there are others !

Keith , I'm surprised you did not have two male parts and a change over switch . But then thought the switch would had never got used two at the same time . I thought it was only an option on the +8.
