Very jealous, Philip. thumbs
My first sailing memory is sitting in a bucket on the foredeck of a Dragon in Beaulieu river in about 1951. I was being kept cool on a very sunny day.
My father bought the boat in Cowes with a friend for £500, took it to Swansea where he kept it on a mooring off Mumbles Head for a year, then sold it for £500. It was too exposed in easterly gales on the mooring, and there was no Marina in those days.
I still have a painting of it on my wall.
I have to admit to having a look for a Dragon a couple of months ago, but decided to stick with what I have for now.
If I could find one like Puff at a sensible price.......

Thanks all, I love the support shown in TM. I can't tell my friend here yet because they will tell me I've lost my mind

Here's the photo I'm sure you want to see

Looks like you need a bigger driveway. Don't know much about sailing boats, but that shore is pretty (pun intended)

.Great boat. i remember seeing a Hornet dinghy down at my club on the Essex coast which was competing in the Nationals or Worlds regatta many years ago. It had a similar bank of controls for the crew to play with. There was a sign positioned above them with the legend "if in doubt....Panic".

What a beautiful Dragon. Serious money to have one built like that now.
They are highly developed for a traditional design and I used one of their masts on my last racing one off.
I think your tow car in the photo looks a bit undersize!
