hmm, how about a Porsche 365?
coffee

A cool £250,000 for an original... but you could have a Chesil recreation.

They seem to have a decent reputation, and Porsche's tacit approval.

That's a great suggestion. Chesil had dropped off my radar.

You shouldn't have done that............ innocent

That compared to an MX5?

PS - But having looked there are very few for sale out there.

Impressive! I cant get my wife to go even as far as Bristol on my bike these days.

Crikey - whats the grade above petrol head ?

And to top that off she is a very lovely lady and her and Mario have some fantastic children too. Their son Duarte is definitely a petrol head, and was brave enough to be my navigator at Caramulo in 2014.

Do they make open top versions?

One of the OP's original specifications - which rules out such things as the Evora... smile

Hello All

I have taken a test drive in a Mazda MX5 sport nav.

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/xsmtpzftcde12gj/AADGJsLP7vTvIdonzsDKMoV_a?dl=0

Arranging the test drive was a matter of simply going to the Mazda website, selecting a vehicle to test, choosing a date and then awaiting the car and representative to arrive at the appointed time. The rep is not a salesman and simply facilitates the test drive and answers any questions.

The roof lowers with the operation of one clip being released and then clicks securely into place at rest behind the driving compartment.

There is a six speed gearbox with a very short throw. The clutch is light and responsive.

Steering and handling is excellent. A grin appeared during the test.

If I wish to take it further the process is to complete a form of specification, it is then submitted to 7 dealers who bid blind for the chance to sell the car.

I am awaiting a booking for a test drive of a Porsche Boxster.

It will have to go some to exceed the experience to date of the Mazda.

I post progress.
