It's a bracket for a rear over-rider. The paint finish suggests fairly new. Not because it looks new but the recent finish is rougher than it used to be. And this one is a rough finish. For a Trad.

@DaveW: thanks, that was the answer i was looking for! and yes, its new. i knew, its not from a m3w, but i had no clue where from. when i got a new back sprocket (aluminum), it was in the parcel. so must have been a mistake at the packeting at morgan malvern.

If the paint finish is anything like the paint finish on the wishbones, headlamp brackets, front mudguards, exhaust mounting brackets etc. of my 2013 M3W I would agree that it is to the usual Morgan crap standard for parts such as this, i.e. no proper surface preparation, no proper undercoat and no adhesion.
