Lessons in a Fiat 124 (Lada)till the last lesson, a nice lorry driver wrote the Fiat off ( in court, it turned out he had 28 previous convictions) I took my test 4 days later in a Mini Moke. The Moke belonged to my instructors daughter, no hood or side screens, the examiner was not impressed, but I did pass. First car May 1969, 100E van Bike test Vespa 150 sportique with all the mod gear!, last bike Laverda SFC 1000.

FS1-E moped test '74. M/C test '75 (don't remember what on, possibly Yamaha DT100). Car test in '75 in the school Escort. HGV1 in the mid '80s (need to look up the date) again a school wagon, from Leyland...

Reading all these brings back some lovely memories - In my case a 1976 100,000 mile Mini 850 ( clapped out ) back in 1986. Pasted first time, despite the examiner walking around the car - admiring the multitude of spot lamps - and asking " has it actually got an MOT?"
The most unreliable pile of junk that mini, but i loved it! Didn't last long - i found out what valve bounce was all about and within months in the hands of a wannabe teenage racing driver it met its match with a church gate. The lesson was that even a Mini will skid in the snow - ran out of talent big-time!
2015 Morgan 4/4 (Wolf fettled) previously 2014 M3W MINI Cooper S and numerous BMC/BL relics.

Passed my test in a Mk 1 Escort - Red with a huge dent in the back panel (not mine - it was a driving school car). Most of my pre-test mileage was in Dad's 2L Ford Consul.
First car bought - as an impecunious student, I found a 1964 Reliant Regal 3/25 van in bright orange for £99. Ran it for 18 months and sold it for £100.

RD250LC for my bike test. Wrote off two of them in a row with people pulling out in front of me. Decided to go for four wheels.
VW1303S Beetle, ODL360M, campaign edition blue. 1970, first go but was told I was overconfident by the examiner. So many things wrong with that car, wet roundabouts for one, but it was a hell of a time in my life once released into the community with transport. One engine meltdown. How Porsche ever made a sports car out of those roots remains a miracle.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
