MPG is one of the indicator's of a well tuned Morgan or one that is not so well tuned. I keep track of MPG. Mind You in the U.S. 4 32oz qts = 1 gallon. Imperial Gallons confuse Me a bit. My Bitsa averages about 20 U.S. MPG on a trip. As I rarely drive in the City in My Morgan I really do not know. The 2.0 Zetec(w. Weber DCOE) DHC is about 24MPG and the TR powered +4-4Str 22 MPG. Button there are 16floz in a US pint & 20floz in an Imperial (British) pint so Imperial gallons are 25% larger than US. Tim

I too am getting at least 35mpg on the same engine.
But I am not expecting that when I get round to an upgrade on the inlet, exhaust and (possibly) a remap.

13 year old 40k mile, 1800 "Black top" Zetec. 35-40 mpg. Excludes giving it the beans! Try cutting a few louvres in the bonnet, the weight saving should be good for a couple of mph

When people ask me what MPG I get on my M3W, I always look them in the eye and say I didn't buy this car for the MPG. The really odd question I get is how many cylinders does it have.

The really odd question I get is how many cylinders does it have. Tell them two up front and two spare in the boot.

I have always checked fuel consumption periodically in every car I have owned. It is a habit that started when cars would regularly drift out of tune. Now I use it to reassure myself that everything is running as it should.
