Oh yes, no question. The sad bit in my view is that quite a lot of the design aspects that make the older cars more beautiful would not be allowed these days dues to crash/pedestrian safety.
The windscreen frames being a case in point, you need decent rollover protection these days, in fact I wonder sometimes how Morgan get away with their designs.

I would prefer the neat and more clear look of the MX5 in comparison with the slightly bulky looking retro attempt of the 124 sister. And I like that there is no Italian technique inside the MX5. To each his own.
