Oh yes, no question. The sad bit in my view is that quite a lot of the design aspects that make the older cars more beautiful would not be allowed these days dues to crash/pedestrian safety.

The windscreen frames being a case in point, you need decent rollover protection these days, in fact I wonder sometimes how Morgan get away with their designs.

Different power plant though Tim. Not sure about the 'box.
We've had both, side by side, at Prescott. Should have taken a photo really...

I guess the modern "bit of Latin" is https://www.dropbox.com/s/6kyjxog09ajw87y/Ferrari_488_GTB_Spider_Large2.jpg?dl=0

Really very pretty and quite delicate in the flesh so to speak. There is no modern Maserati equivalent - they seem to be aiming to turn Maserati into a sort of Italian BMW

I would prefer the neat and more clear look of the MX5 in comparison with the slightly bulky looking retro attempt of the 124 sister. And I like that there is no Italian technique inside the MX5. To each his own.

Back to the subject, those Italian Beauties the thread starts with are so nice, they could be shaped by angels.

Can't see that. You need to log in to dropbox.
