Hi Speed,
Since you inquired about engine turned dash panels I decided to prematurely give you a sneak peak of my winter project. It's almost complete.
This is an engine turned .063" DGL-50 pattern ( 1/2" swirls ) stainless steel dash panel fabricated by FPM Metals in Nebraska. Their work is exemplary and they have replicated engine turned panels for Bugatti and Deusenberg. In general design terms, the smaller the panel the smaller the swirl diameter and vice versa. The DGL-50 pattern from FPM Metals is appropriate for the M3W dash. I provided all accurate tracings. I used the standard leather panels as a template for the sides and modified the standard central aluminum panel for the center. I redesigned the mounting system for the tachymeter and speedometer and designed new stainless steel bezels which have been fabricated but not highly polished yet. I've included a picture of one of the bezels before final polish. Also being fabricated are highly polished smooth stainless steel toggle switches. All this is simply a cosmetic makeover. I would liked to have used retro analog type gauges but didn't want to mess around with electrical changes so our stock speedometer and tachymeter are used, so all functionality is the same including the toggle switches.
I had the plastic housing for the steering column professionally painted gloss black and polished the Brooklands steering wheel. My custom Mike Lempert English Walnut steering wheel is almost finished as well.
Will provide a picture when all finished. It's been a lot of fun bringing all this together. Thanks for posting pics and info, have to say that is absolutley stunning, wow

They are called Engine ( or Machine) Turned .
Uncle Mel sells them ...not expensive from memory...which is v unusual for Mr Rutter!!! Thank you, not too far from me either, also congratulations on how much effort you put into the site, whenever I look at anything you have normally beaten me to it!

That dash looks very good, Sportster! The ACE-threewheeler was fitted with a very nice dash, too:

Hi Sportster, are your panels available to order and do you have a price?

Hi Rockabilly John,
I not planning on offering this as a kit.
The side panels are very easy. Make an accurate perimeter tracing of each of your leather side panels on thick construction paper and accurately trace the hole positions. Carefully cut the perimeter out and send to FPM Metals in Nebraska. Instructions are on their website. Even then the holes were very slightly off requiring filing to match the holes in the dash. I put .5mm one sided adhesive rubber strips on the back of the panels ( adhesive side on SS panel ) so as not to scratch the painted dashboard underneath.
The central panel is a bit more complicated and required a lot of custom work involving three different companies for fabrication of: the engine turned SS panel, metal blanks for the custom gauge bezels and custom bracket for supporting the gauges, and finishing work for the gauges. Panel bolt holes can potentially be off little as well.
FPM Metals probably has my tracings stored in their computer since all this is precisely laser cut if you want to replicate this but I don't know how standardized our M3W are. Will my bolt hole positions line up with your dashboard? Don't know. The best thing is to use your panels to trace. I can also take good pictures of the construction of the central panel, bezels, and gauge supporting brackets and give dimensions of the gauge bezels and brackets so a local machine shop can replicate. So I would have FPM Metals make your panels and have a local machine shop help with the rest.
I'm willing to help as you need.
