Wet and soggy here - dodged the rain for a 3.5 mile run this morning.Good to be alive. Heavy rain now - hope it will wash the fox prints of the car cover.
Same here. Dodged the showers to go for a hack this morning. Now persisting it down. Thinking it is time to go to muck out and feed two disgruntled horses who have been stuck in their stables all day since getting back from the hack.

Paul and Richard. I never thought I would be jealous of rain but to hear it tapping on our tiles now would be bliss. We are in our third week of below zero temperatures and the inevitable heavily salted roads. Rain would mean temps above zero and the possibility of salt free roads. Neither the hangar nor the garage is heated. I'm scanning the real estate ads;, a cottage in Devon, a farmhouse in France? Anything but Central Europe in winter.

We are having a sort of winter drought here. We really need some rain. We had a little snow a couple of weeks ago but that is all. Sunshine every day and temperatures hovering above and below zero.

Why not have a look at Portugal. Has great beaches, lovely people, a great climate, a tradition of light aircraft, and lots and lots of eucalypti. If it wasn't for the language and the architecture you would think you were somwhere in Australia. If it wasn't for unavoidable commitments here that is where we would be going.
Yep, A wonderful sunny morning just right for a blast around The Broads on my usual winter warmer route. It even stayed sunny whilst I washed the salt and mud off the Morgan. Do any other TM'ers suffer from bloody farmers and their "Mud on the road" signs?
Do we ever - if it's not mud it's cow or sheep detritus, but the worst is the wannabe Olympic cyclists they really are a pain on our roads. Bradley Wiggo has a lot to answer for.
I wouldn't swap it for a city for any price though, it all washes off.

Peter thanks. Portugal has occurred to me and a former colleague from Australian days has just given up on France and moved there and is very enthusiastic. But G has family in France (as well as the UK) and we have no family or other links to Portugal. I think these are important factors. I've been keen on France for a long time but increasingly find myself attracted to the UK west country, Devon in particular. All of the aviation and Morgan events are strong pull factors too. This is a really big decision for us but it's a couple of years off yet so I need to get out there and do some more research. Those beaches look great.
