Got some interesting feed back today on this issue. Seems like our Department of Infrastructure & Transport were true to their word when they advised in September 2013 that they would be “monitoring” Morgan on compliance issues in Australia. As it has turned out, purchases of non compliant vehicles were able to have their cars rectified at no cost. Potential new owners now purchase their vehicles with confidence that all necessary compliance issues have been addressed and Morgan can resume the sale of its full product range.
Great result all round I would have said……. Ps, except it would appear that one of our state authorities has not caught up with the compliance status of the M3W – It should be sorted soon I think.

Good to hear. I noticed the "ad" in the Ear. Read more like a WA feature!

Except that my understanding is that they have decided to fit 4 seater suspension to the Plus 4 which has a known ground clearance problem. The Australian Design Rules require a 100mm ground clearance under the centre of the car and the Plus 4 often has only 90mm (I know because mine was like that when I picked it up at the factory).
More than anything this is because the Plus 4 has the lowest tyre sidewall hight of the whole trad range. By some stroke of genius the answer is the labour intensive and somewhat unsatisfactory solution of fitting stiffer, and therefore higher, suspension, sacrificing ride comfort and increasing body roll. Admittedly there was a batch of faulty 4 leaf springs that gave particular problems on some cars but that is a different issue. The obvious and easiest solution of simply fitting taller tyres seems to have been ignored. Simply fitting 195/65 R15 tyres for the Australian market (and that matter as standard tyres on all Plus 4 cars) would have gained 10mm and resolved the problem.
