I've still not made my mind up re wind deflectors and a smaller leather steering wheel, though remain tempted.....I feel the wheel it might suit my slightly sportier steed.

I've ordered Heart of England's which are for the folding screen and have the little scallop to go around the thumb turn

I'll need to get hold of some longer Imperial machine screws than John will send through though as I've put an extra polished steel strap on top of the side bar

Wind deflectors and my replacement wiper blades arrived today from John at Heart of England

Look very nice - might fit them this evening as I'm quite excited about how they'll look

I have wind deflectors and love them, but then I never use the sidescreens or hood. If it rains while you're out on your own just put the tonneau on the passenger side and drive faster - the rain defects better of the deflectors....

I suggest you find a friendly local mog with deflectors fitted and go out in it before drilling the windscreen surround then finding out you don't like them.

Regarding the steering wheel be careful with clearance between your leg and the new wheel for access/egress. I changed mine from a thick leather one to a thin wooden one and now it's much easier to get in and out when sliding one's left leg under.

I wonder if anyone has experimented with how small a wind deflector can be and still work effectively?

I can remember on our race-bike fairings, that very small lips on the fairing screen could make a significant difference to the airflow.

Bud, I've made some very small deflectors. About the size of my hand. I made them out of cardboard as a prototype intending to make some Perspex ones. I discovered that you only need small by putting my hand at the bottom of the windscreen one day. Its very easy to test. On my roadster these worked fine and I use them sometimes on my 4/4 so they transfer OK. I'll post some pics.Nick

I've remembered that I did make some in Perspex. But I only use the cardboard ones as they can be thrown in back of car. They're covered in gaffatape! There's a flap of Gaffa at the bottom and Velcro up one side. A thin strip of velcro on the windscreen pillar locates it and the flap of gaff is trapped by the door when closed. They don't get blown off at speed. Also, they can stay on under the sidescreensif needed. In honesty I hardly ever use them but they do work. If they were nicely made.......

I hadn't appreciated you had to drill the surround.....thought they'd fix through the existing screen fittings.
