Haven't driven my Morgan for weeks, for one reason and another worse bl**dy winter for Mogging. It's either work getting in the way, or rubbish weather or salt on the roads but am feeling a loss, can't get out tomorrow as am out all day, Sunday will probably bring salty roads, best days look like early next week and I shall be at work. Hummph And breathe.. It'll happen soon enough & be all the sweeter for it..

Yes! A trip into Dumbarton to see a friend, then up to Helensburgh via the coast, chased a Minesweeper up the Gareloch (I won) but did wonder if the Police boat has radar. They need something to keep them from being utterly bored! Then turned right at the Faslane gate and up and over the military road with its magnificent steep steep hills and sweeping bends. Rumour has it that it doesn't meet many of the design criteria for a 60mph single carriageway and that it was only made a public road because the land owner didn't invoke the clause requiring the MoD to reinstate the land once they had finished with it. Anyway I hadn't taken the 4/4 80th over it unto now and despite taking the hills at 60 in 4th we ran out of puff half way and had to select 3rd! Great fun.

Hummph Tarka has sat in the garage since early January. Looks as though it will be lat feb before I get a chance to go out. Oh yes, it is trying to snow.

Oh yes, it is trying to snow. Here too. 200 metres further up the "hill" is already white.

A day late. Yesterday we went on a visit, took the Mog. We then went to Aberaeron. Not much traffic but some lorries holding it up. Decent drive but damn cold. The engine temp didn't rise above 75C, usually at 80C in winter. Car went really well. Lunch in the Harbourmaster was just ok-ish. Not as good as last time. Haddock and chips. Skinny chips, portion average. Coffee was just hot enough. Not cheap either..£12, so it has dropped off my list. Returned via coast road to Cardigan then back via Cenarth and Carmarthen. Stuck to main roads due to time issues. About 150 miles in total Not the first run of the year but good to get out.

At last dry and salt free, a lovely trip to Torcross and back the only noteworthy vehicle being a proper old Austin Mini in that very pale blue, the driver looked like he had been suffering with cabin fever too.
