It's a bit bonkers isn't it
I do understand that in exceptional circumstances that flowers may harbour harmful bacteria or give off pollen that might be allergens but I wish common sense would balance those dangers by the positive effect that having fresh flowers around may have

I see lots of visitors wandering into wards not using the hand gel as nobody enforces it and we all just wander in wearing shoes from just being outside

I did some work many years ago for a food supplier supplying M&S and the level of hygiene required for any visitor just visiting the factory for a 5 minute tour was incredible - overshoes, hats, lab coats, supervised hand washing and yet we allow anyone to wander in to our high dependency wards at visitor times without any protection

And many nursing staff wear uniforms to and from work...complete with any exchange of anything on them..
