No, it's so we can continue racing at Silverstone without annoying the locals. 2/3 max revs at 0.5 m at 45 degrees to the exhaust. My car was 99dB. Drive by 108 dB limit. Not MSA . We should all support it if we like to race. And racers often get blamed for people driving past circuits on the public highway at much higher dB readings.

Quite right John.

And due to one neighbour at Prescott, we have had a lower limit than the MSA ruling. It's gone back up again now to the 108dB on a drive by.
However, to get competitors to comply, break it and that driver/car has time excluded on first offence and is excluded from the meeting on a second.
Scott Moran, one of the quickest on Midland Hills, is more than 4dB BELOW the allowed limit. If his team can do that, and break hill records, there is absolutely NO reason for excessive noise. Unfortunately, we can't bar those driving by on the road from upsetting our neighbours...
