I've been wondering what was meant by a 3 zip tonneau, now I've seen this I'm struggling to see the advantage. Could someone enlighten the puzzled newbie please.

The 3 zip tonneau cover enable smoother running of the seat belts.
It also allows you to enclose the side if the side windows are off.

I had pockets for the head rests added to the cover so that there was no need to lower the seat back or remove the headrests when parked up.

That makes sense. My 4/4 came with the Lybrands roll bar so the tonneau has cut-outs to go round it, these accommodate the seat belts when the tonneau is tucked behind the seats.

With the screens on I bring the tonneau sides inside the car just behind the door to avoid closing it against the vinyl and studs. Good for tamper protection but I wouldn't want it to be caught in a shower like that. It seems more weather-proof with the screens off and the tonneau clipped down all around. Time for a cover I think.

Without the sidescreens the side(s)of the cover can be clipped to the outside of the doors. I think it tends to come a bit close to your hands on the steering wheel and can flap a bit.

With the sidescreens in place the sides of the cover are folded around the door opening (the door is actually closed against them, and then it is tucked behind the seat. A neat inward fold can be made so that the surplus cloth over the corner of the door opening is tucked in and doesn't flap. I am thinking of fitting a press stud to the section of inner panel next to the seat (using an existing stud in the cover itself) to hold the thing more securely.

The centre section can be folded into a long triangle and then rolled up and dropped behind the seats or tucked on top of the luggage. This ten leaves the seat belts reasonably free.

Since fitting the 2 side zips I have not used the hood cover as the tonneau cover used in this way does that job too.
