Everyone knows the M3W is not a motorcycle. Its fake, its a fake motorcycle. Unfair!

The new headlights are going to be amazing headlights. They are going to be absolutely fantastic.

The old headlights? Disaster, its true, total disaster and we are going to make the Brits pay for them.

You’re gonna love it. Just wait and see. Its going to be fantastic.

Apparently this is the origin of that fugly configuration.


This is really stupid from the USA authorities. If this auto cycle is as wide as a car, safety commends that its headlights be positioned in a way that show its wideness.

But I guess Morgan 3 Wheeler owners in the States will happily put the headlights back where they belong. And they'll be safer by doing so

and with a cunning bit of design the headlight brackets could have been reversible on the mounting bar to give the compliant, narrow configuration but when swapped over into the "wrong" position they could give a sensible wider arrangement just like they were before...

The line where they say that;
"While the M3W may be an unusual design, the vehicle configuration is unequivocally a motorcycle"
probably sums up the chances of getting any sensible decision made.

Saying that, the real own goal for Morgan would be the re-classification of the M3W as a car rather than a motorcycle, it really would not pass muster as a car under all the regs it would have to comply with.

The roads and bridges are tumbling around us and this is what my tax dollars are spent on? I guess the real issue is that we don't have a Lobby in Washington to spread enough money around that this stupid crap does not happen! Hopefully Morgan is appealing this decision. I did spend a little bit of time last night looking at of all things Polaris slingshots. And I had never noticed before that they have two little headlights in the grill in the center of the car, maybe that was done to get around this idiotic regulation.
