My dealer found out about the change when I sent them K Henry's photo of my car at the factory.

I always know more than my dealer. It's not that I have any contact with the factory (quite the contrary, we aren't speaking, nor should we I suppose).

One good example, already old story (or anedocte, depends on perspective) : my dealer received the only ARP4 sold to Portugal, and phoned me quite proud, asking me if I wanted to go and see the car in the stand before its delivery.

Then I warned him about the handbrake. MMC hadn't warned him, and the car was going, "as was" to the client.

SBM, I hear you, but there's something fishy in the way MMC communicates (or rather, doesn't) with dealers and car owners.

And I could tell so much more, but my own experience is best kept to my self.

Why would Morgan respond direct to owners? They have dealers for that..!

...

One would expect them to inform prospective owners. The style of this vehicle is its major feature. Dealers who have taken orders should of course be notifying purchasers who are pre-delivery of the change.

My dealer found out from TM. Has four cars being built.

Yea, not like nobody was going to notice.
And not like they have not been fighting it since December of 2013. If I was a dealer, or someone with a car close to being completed, id be ordering some headlight brackets from Morgan NOW, to change them back.

My dealer didn't know about the change until the post here. Remarkable. It's not like they just decided to make the change on Monday and didn't yet have a chance to send out a brief note :-) While some may think this quaint, I think it's just bad business.

I remember first learning about the factory offering a steel rear sprocket here on talkmorgan. When I asked my dealer about price and availability, he was unaware of the existence of a steel sprocket.

Its kind of like when I buy a new car.
When I bought my Mazda, I researched it for weeks before I went to the dealer, and the salesmen, and dealership staff didn't know half of what I did. But they have to keep current on more than one model. For most dealers they are selling multiple brands, and lots of models. They don't dive into depth on every specification. No telling where the communication is really breaking down.

Product knowledge is key to be a sales person. Well it should be!
Seems like BS has replaced it!

You should checkout www.morgancustom.net, watch his product videos and you'll see he has fender marker lights. He also has 8 other lights on the front of his 3W using his accessories.

My wife purchased the oil cooler kit from him last Christmas as a gift to me. He is a great guy to deal with and has been more than willing to talk on the phone. Contact him if you have questions about the lights he's used or how he has incorporated them on his Morgan.
