Collected my new S90 this week. Unfortunately, the dealer ordered the wrong trim! They have been very good about it though, and luckily it can be sorted out. They have ordered the correct "Linear Walnut" trims and will fit them in the next week or so.
I really love the car though, and anyone looking for a big saloon should certainly consider and sit in one. Looks great, excellent ride quality, great tech and the cabin is unlike any other, very clean, crisp and "airy".
Is it as good as the new 520d? No, but that is not to say I wish I chose a 520d (nor does it mean the s90 is a bad car), as I wanted something a little different, a little more subtle, and I fell in love with the interior as soon as I sat in one.

he last Volvo I has was equipped with the most comfortable car seats I have ever sat on. Real 500 mile without an ache seats. Is your new car like that?
I still fancy another Volvo when the present Panzerwagen kicks up its motoring toes.

Interesting. I've been on the verge of ordering a V90 - and echo your thoughts on the interior. It would/will be my 3rd Volvo, and like you I prefer the perceived "image" when compared to a BMW/Audi.
However, I've been stopped in my tracks by all the adverse publicity around diesel doing the rounds. As I buy my cars outright and keep them for 6-7 years as a rule I'm unsure where we're going to be with oil-burners in a few years' time. Seems to me that there's going to be every excuse for the bureaucrats to clobber diesel vehicles (or the fuel) with higher tax rates before too long. We may not even be able to drive into many city centres if this continues.
So I'm biding my time until the T8 hybrid-powered version turns up. There's likely to be a hefty price premium unfortunately, but the tech does sound very impressive, and the 8-year powertrain/battery warranty should cover my risk. My XC60 will just have to soldier on a little longer.

+1 on the seats.
I had an 850T5R many years ago and drove from Farnham to Edinburgh every week for a contract. I could not have done that in almost any other car.
I do like the new Volvo interiors. Not just the big screen but also the general lines and style. It is very relaxing. I think with the quiet T8 powerplant it will be excellent as well. I had a go in a V90 with it and it is impressive.
The next nearest seat for comfort is the last E63 AMG seats I had, they were very good.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Volvo are pretty much tops for seats in my experience +1 I've posted on here before that IMHO the front seats in the front of my old V70 were about the most comfy car seats I've ever sat on. Great all round family car that really served us well for years. It was dead reliable; 15 years old with 200 000 km on the clock when we unloaded it. Everything still worked and it was still as totally free of squeaks and rattles as when we first bought it. I think the S90/V90 looks really great. I just don't need such a big car anymore.

I can only compare with a 2004 V70, 2007 BMW X-5 and 2011 BMW 530d, but a suggestion: try a Tesla model S, clean and bright and comfy, driving 2.0! I swapped my BMW....!
