I'm now onto my 4th day in a row of driving the Morgan to work (it may not be as glamorous as the Lap of Scotland but it will have to do when I have work commitments) and wanted to mention a strange phenomenon.

Today, each and every motorcyclist I passed (coming in the opposite direction) gave me the nod that I believe is reserved for other motorcyclists. You know the nod, as in the nod that has to make do in the absences of the secret handshake. grin2

Has anyone else experienced this? Very strange... welcome but strange.

I also had the standard fare: people looking at the car to the degree that you're sure they are going to drive off the road. When stuck in traffic, groups of kids, on their way to school, yelling positive comments at you (today I actually had two of them bowing to the car notworthy - I kid you not!) but the biker one is new for me.

Anyone else experience this?

I often get a "thumbs up" from bikers. I suppose they regard us as non-mainstream-brothers (are we??).

We get the same thumb up from bikers on harleys or other non-mainstream brands.

It's normal.

We are the Resistance... smile

Yep...me too. It's a brotherhood thing. Also from vintage Bentleys (second one last Saturday on M1), and Caterham type cars.

Resistance is not futile.....

Simon,

That was indeed the standard biker response to the 360CS.

Standard white van man response was however even more predictable!

I have never recieved the nod in any of my previous cars whether the Ferrari (no 360CS granted) or the Pork or any other.

ONLY on a bike....... Or in my Aero. The only car I've ever had that bikers have acknowledged or appreciated. And indeed the same thing here in Scotland at this moment in time laugh

Cheers

Same here... Dave said it: "It's a brotherhood thing" thumbs But I'm a busy greeter too

Sometimes cars flash their lights. When I'm on the way in my Fiat, this always is an indication for a hidden cop Not so when I'm out with my Moggie thumbs

Sunny greetings,
Ivo
