Hi Simon,
I did read it before purchasing along with many, many posts on this site which gave me an enormous amount of very useful information, all of which helped me to understand some of the potential issues and take them into account during my search. Without all this information I doubt if I would have had the bottle to buy an Aero, despite having been smitten since its launch!!!
I ended up going for a 2002 car with about 6000 miles on the clock which has seen very little use in the last 6 years - most of its miles were covered in years 1 and 2. Inevitably there will be some "fettling" to do given its lack of use but it has been thoroughly checked and serviced by the Morgan dealer selling it on behalf of its current owner who has owned the car since it was about a year or so old. I had a chat with the owner on the phone and he has other Morgans as well as a significant collection of expensive motor cars, none of which get used very much!
It is chassis number G0046, is in metallic grey with mid brown leather, the paint is mainly original apart from the front "splitter" which has been repainted and a small stone chip taken out of one of the wings. I need one wheel refurbishing, although it is coming with a brand new replacement wheel in any event. I will also fit new tyres as the original Pirellis, although unworn, are now about 9 years old. It has had the PAS 'upgrade' and the revised centre lock wheel nuts, has all its original tools, paperwork, books and wallets, car covers etc, etc.
To my mind it just needs to be used and cherished. I hope it turns out to be a 'good one'.
Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave, Once you've done the recommissioning you mention, I'm sure it will ideal and provide a lot of pleasure. One thing to check - and you probably already done it! - is what version of the Aero 8 S1 roof it has. The roof changed a few times within the first series and did improve with the revisions (become less and less prone to water ingress). I will also be interested to see which interior door panels your Morgan has. These were revised through the life-cycle of the S1 to provide improvements on the interior room; while minor revisions, at best, some of the styles do allow for a little better elbow room. Again, congratulations on your new car and welcome to the site.
