Anyone used this undersealant, it's being recommended to me for my +4?

This is a fine quality product favoured by the quality body repair shops.

Hang on - sorry to disagree - but is that not a fancy name for common-cheepo thick black underseal that drys hard and then flakes off? Also with no anti-corrosion properties?

Fit for the dust bin only in my opinion - go for Bilt-hamber or Dinitrol. These have anti-rust properties, don't fully dry out and hence dont flake off

Shutz is not underseal as you would of known it, Shutz stays live " never cures" we sell Thousands of tins a month into the Automotive Distributor market without complaint.

And in my opinion Dinitrol is for the over enthuist D.I.Y man with to much money and time on his hands

Absolutely not, totally different product, Scutz surface cures but never fully hardens so is flexible and has a self heal property. I have been using it for over 20 years without complaint (except when I am cleaning up the applicator, I have the proper gun that goes with my compressor). It's a quality product used by the garage trade for years and years and approved by most manufacturers for accident repairs.

How does Waxoil compare to these other products?

Nothing wrong with Body Schutz if used properly. I'll be using 3M overpaintable Body Schutz on the underneath of the wings, wheel arches and rear of the number plate valance of my Plus 4 when I paint it this year.

I tend to junk the applicators after use as they are relatively in expensive to buy.

Where it gets a bad reputation is on bodged bodywork repairs. I saw one this afternoon where a hole on the sill of a car had been covered with a plate, stuck on with Tiger Seal made to look like a weld then covered in Schutz. Needless to say the tester gave it the yellow crayon of doom....

I understand that underseal had a similar reputation too!

Schultz is manufactured by 3M and is recommended by professionals and as Spanner Juggler states it normally is applied with compressed air. You take your choice and make your own conclusion. There will always be sceptics as with all products.

Waxoil is a more liquid product aimed at interior cavities such as doors and innerwells. A prime example of area to use Waxoil is on Replacment bulkhead panels when a windscreen or wiper panel has been replaced. Commonly the wiper/ windscreen panel on 1990 Rover 200/400/800 range had to be replaced when a Windscreen need replacing,Waxoil would be used in difficult sealing areas. You note i didnt mention 600series, thats because the 600 was a Honda Accord in disguise hence the build quality was much better.
