I am not usually one to publicly air my grievances, but this is getting a bit ridiculous so I though I should get the forums take on this and maybe someone at Morgan will see it and will respond.
So the situation is this; my 2012 M3W had the original compensator replaced with the Centa unit last spring at the cost of $4126.26 USD. Barely 13 months/700 miles later I find a pool of oil under the M3W in my garage, have the M3W picked up by the dealership for repairs only to be told that the oil leak is from a bad seal at the back of the engine, $3730.03 is the estimate to fix it, and it will be completed in roughly 2 weeks.
Today I email the dealership to inquire about the status of the work as it has been about 2 weeks, when I am told "Morgan has been slow to respond to a manufacturing defect we found. The sealing area on the centa drive was never machine polished from the factory. This is the reason we rear main seals have failed." Apparently I, and many others, were sold a detective part and now that it has failed Morgan REFUSES to cover the repair. I was told that this is at least the third M3W that has been in to the dealership for this issue this spring. Who knows how long until I need to spend more money to have this seal replaced again, this just seems absurd to me.
Is this something I should be bending over and taking, because it sure doesn't feel that way to me?

i think sending a clear email with pictures and invoice to MMC management can surely help, eventually also use their Facebook page, at you place i will surely be furious, when i read so many defect in the M3W that just block me to buy one, i have drive one last year my comment to the dealer be nice toys but not fully finish i prefer to wait some time more than paid the development for MMC

Strip the Centa drive out, take it to a local machine shop, get them to clean up and polish the seal area, fit a new seal, reassemble.
Doesn't sound like $4k dollars worth of work to me?

No bending over please. Whatever the consequence (and the time wasted with a M3W "parked"), just stand your ground. I don't air my own grievances (could write a book about it though), but's that what I do / the way I act about them.
Good luck

Most of that cost is the shop time to remove the drive train, break it down, replace the seal and then put the whole mess back together. The internal drive train bits are not user friendly to work on.

I wouldn't be putting it out there if I hadn't already tried to contact Morgan by email, and knowing that there are many a sage amongst the ranks here I figured it worth a go. Plus their response track record is rather hit or miss.
The dealership is polishing it by hand I'm told, at a cost I'm sure. I am not doing work myself or at an indy mechanic because it could erode the value. Anyone have the email address of someone who could assist me up at the factory? Or Mark, are you there?

I am also learning that the dealership is installing "the mandatory 'Brake Failure' light on the dash."
Can anyone elaborate on what exactly this is?

I ...could write a book about it though I feel for you, I could have bought a Mazda Miata with my repair costs.

Can anyone elaborate on what exactly this is? Its a small round light that comes on if the fluid is low or if the brake system has an issue. It is at the top center of the new dash.
