Hi - new member here and hopefully about to get ownership of my first 4/4. Ive seen one or two mentions on other forums here about security. Dealers and insurance seem very relaxed about it but has anyone added anything extra to their car beyond the immobiliser?

I never used anything, didn't even lock the doors, seems pointless as someone wanting to get in could easily manage it!! I can't remember any one having a Morgan stolen nor anything taken from the car, I did however take the precaution of not leaving anything of value lying around (common sense really). Ian

I've never bothered with anything, There's no point really, they don't get stolen as there's no market for them. You couldn't strip them down and sell the bits as (a) everyone would know where they had come from and (b) they wouldn't fit anyway Someone had their spare wheel pinched once, but I've not heard of a Morgan being stolen or vandalised.

Yes, that was sadly departed Gerwyn. Parked overnight in a hotel car park. Probably pinched by some drunken wally who thought it was funny...

I put a storm cover on when parked outside in cities. Besides the advantage of rain or bird protection the cover allows no insight to the car. I do not lock doors as they are no barrier to get access to the inside.
No problems yet but spent weeks in Italy, France, Chech and other countries with "bad reputation"

I always put the tonneau on and I have a battery switch but never remove the key but apart from that don't even bother to lock it. No problems in 37 years of ownership.

I usually put the hood up for overnights at hotels, and then a hood cover. The latter has the advantages of hiding the interior, as well as protecting the roof from birds, trees sap and sleeping cats. In the daytime, the hood will normally be down, so I just use the tonneau cover. Also, my 4/4 has no exterior door handles, which some find confusing! ps welcome to TM Derek and enjoy your new 4/4. (Is it the red one waiting to go out at Berrybrook?)

After a Morgan is not a car you drive if you would like to remain anonymous.....
I remember approx 15 years ago as Morgan got stolen and soon recovered as the thief found it impossible to move on.

I put the hood up or a cockpit cover or tonneau. I tend to lock the doors but only because I have heard not doing so invalidates insurance if anything does get damaged or stolen. But never had any problems. Most joy-riders would not be seen dead in an "old git`s car" even if they could mobilise the brain cell to work out how to release the handbrake! (do leave it in gear - not called a fly-off handbrake for nothing!) also no commercial theives would be able to sell it on. Engage common sense when leaving the car.
