I'm now looking for my next Morgan adventure for the summer. It looks like I will be spending a few days travelling from Birmingham to Venice in my 3-wheeler, picking up a cruise for a week with my wife, then driving back home (Josephine will fly each way).

I'm just starting to look for an interesting route each way. Any suggestions of must-see places or must-drive roads I could take in.....?

I have done a similar trip, the final destination was just south of Bologna. I basically drove down through France to Lausanne and turned left through Switzerland passing through Gstaad, Brienz, Andermatt, Chur, Davos and all the passes along that route and then the Stelvio to Bormio and then Lake Garda. I carried on south from there but you could would go east to Venice.

I've done Venice three times in the Morgan: once from Austria, once from Croatia, and once from Switzerland via Milan. There are too many good places to mention, and in truth I can't remember a few. The road from the Reichenbach Falls to Milan was particularly good, taking in the Sustenpass. It's a cool idea to find a hotel with parking a couple of train stops out of Venice. I've stopped at Mestre a couple of times. Please write how you get on.

The one concern I have is finding somewhere to leave the car for a week. I will definitely be adding this trip to my blog.

the best best is go to the swiss alps and then go down by the best italian pass to venice the scenery is incredible.

Having explored most of the popular Italian/Swiss passes over the years, I found the Splugen the most impressive especially by bike. Imagine an M3W would lap it up

Methinks that a little extra throttle to kick out the rear end will be necessary around those hairpin bends. It would be a tad embarrassing doing a 3 point turn around each of them. Wouldn't want to hold up the Cinquecentos would we!

Noticing the hairpins I was thinking exactly the same. Rather tigth turns for a M3W
