But what an interesting thread and as for that Lufthansa picture: amazing.
I am, however quite grateful that I no longer have to regularly go on long-haul flights.
As for Papua New Guinea, I spent quite a few hours in the 80s on Air New Guinea flights, either their ancient 707 on the Sydney - Port Moresby rout, or their F27s & F28s from Port Moresby to Lae.
Amazing country and the airport at Port Moresby; now called Jacksons international, but used to be called Jacksons Field was originally built by the US Seabees. Fascinating place, with lots of old WW2 photographs and a Douglas DC3 on a plinth, outside the entrance.
