I did occasionally lock my Mog.

If we were, say, staying at a hotel, I'd put the hood up and lock the doors. Not because I thought it would prevent the car being stolen. It was just so that I could tell the insurance company that the car had been locked if anything DID happen.

I lock mine for the insurance reasons as well although it is an ineffectual theft move it complies with the rules.

It seems that many of the car thief's don't know how to drive stick shift. Now if they make Morgans with automatics then maybe they would steal the cars.

In Western Australia, it is compulsory to fit an aftermarket immobiliser to a car if it does not have one. I take the key out, but don't lock the doors. overnight I put the tonneau on and perhaps a waterproof cover if it looks like rain.

I have a small strong box locked to the seat runner for any valuables (GPS) that I leave in the car.

I think you are being a bit complacent in assuming that a stolen Morgan cant be sold. Lots of high value cars are simply put into containers and shipped out to countries like Russia where there is no legal system. If its not yet happened to a Morgan thats because the average scrote doesnt recognise the value.

I'm chuckling at the thought of some Russian mafia boss riding around Moscow collecting his drug money in a Stolen Morgan

High powered large Mercedes or a Morgan? thinking

In my experience of Moscow they mainly drive black Range Rover sports with tinted windows not Morgans.

I have always had the red battery cut off switch but the new one has the red blinking ( or should that be the blinking red ) immobilizer warning light. For garage work I would like to install that red key - can one do that? --as for out and about I use a Stop Lock.

You can buy the red isolator switches on e bay, but if you cut power off to the immobilizer & ECU that could cause issues.

Good point

I also make sure the ultimate anti-theft device is on

The fly-off hand brake

But John , doesn't one do that when disconnecting the battery?

Yes & it just relearns I believe.
I know on the T16 isolating the CU wasn't recommended. On the Roadster have no idea if it is an issue.
