Thanks for the info and Pics Ken, cheers Love your colour scheme BTW.

I would be interested to see more pics of the stages of your Toneau Folding (cant see the ends in these pics. On the 4/4 I always rolled ours in two halves (unzipped) but the ends were difficult to fold in (Mohair). camera As Benny Hill used to say (Learning all the time)

I will give the new one (also Mohair) another go at fitting tomorrow before I make any complaints.

Frank! It couldn't be easier.

Start with the zip unfastened:



Then fold in half to the end of the zip:



Fold in half, again:



Flip the folded tonneau through 180 degrees towards the headrest and then tuck the leading edge of it between the top of the hood and the underside of the fixed section of the tonneau:



Fasten the stud to hold everything in place:



No need to worry about fouling the seat-belt as the surplus tonneau is above the hood fabric.

You're too kind.

Just spread the word to dispel the myth that the tonneau prevents the seat-belts from retracting! If there is an issue with the tonneau, it's that water can pond on it and seep through the zip, although tilting the seats forward helps to prevent this.

Well Ken, I needed the dealer to show me how to get the Toneau to fit as I was after a replacement. It looks a tighter fit than yours though.

Zip open and Back Latches unpopped.
Fitted the left side Poppers & Tenex first including the front scuttle side & middle fastenings.
Then Heave across the back edge to fit the side back popper (the one I could not do up).
Then do up the right side poppers etc right to the front.
Then do the Zip Up and clamp down the back edge last.

Your folding method - My first attempt. - Rear View.

Front view - First Attempt. - will have to do better. It is well clear of the Seat Belt as you predicted.

I have left the full Toneau zipped up over night to allow it to stretch a bit. I will have another try tomorrow.

Frank. Open the zip fully so you can tuck more of the tonneau on top of the hood. Otherwise the wind will catch the loose bit of tonneau that is forward of the popper.

The secret with the tonneau is to ensure it is properly located at the back and then to pull it forward. Then fix the nearside front first by locating the middle front fastener and then the nearside one. After that the tenax and the stud below it. For the offside, first close the zip and engage the velcro and then pull hard to engage the edge dash top fastener. Finally, engage the tenax fastener and stud below it. As most of my journeys are about 100 miles, I seldom take the sidescreens off so the door studs are not used. If the tonneau is left in the sun it is far easier to stretch it.
