Should I buy one ?
Of course not. Think of it as buying a horse. You know there are more practical forms of transport but you quite fancy something down to earth and basic. You must be willing to overlook the downsides of horse ownership such as getting it in the lift of your high rise apartment and the high vet bills .. yada yada
It is a terrible car but it is also the best all round motoring
experience you can buy.
+1 on the informed comments above. Buy with caution and enjoy
bang on, drive one and you will be hooked, but from a reputable with all upgrades and you will love it like nothing else ,simples

M3W vs 4/4?
Having had both I can assure you that they are very different experiences!
THe M3W is a great car and very exciting to drive.
The 4/4 is a great car - with many more comforts than a 3W. Possibly more comfort over a long drive or touring.
But try not to compare too much as they are fundamentally different.
It really comes down to which of the two "experiences" floats your boat more!

Reliability is paramount in MHO. My 2008 4/4 with Duratec motor has done 51k and only let me down once during that time, when a fractured plastic radiator leaked coolant. Now replaced with Mifsud one. Regular servicing/inspection is key. Most trads are like creaking gates - they don't break, they just rattle, bump, squeek, leak and groan. As for the M3, I have no first hand knowledge, but talk of cracked chassis and drivetrain issues is alarming. Might a Moto-Guzi unit not have been a better power source. Two 1000cc pistons conspire to hammer V the thing appart.

My Feb. 2013 car has let me down twice. Both times 100's of miles from home once in France.
Compensator let go would you believe at the factory for its first service and then at Classic LeMans voltage regulator, replaced at a local Harley dealership.
That was within the first year of ownership. Since then all the issues have been sorted out and it has been 100% reliable.
In fact I would quite happily jump in it this morning without any prep. and drive 1000 miles without any hesitation.
