Ok, so new leafs and springs assistants looks like a good start. You say you made up a couple of sets, do you have a spare one you could sell on?

I very much think the standard suspension could be significantly improved with addition of adjustable spring assists or progressive bump stops to control the peak movement. It’s not that difficult to engineer or even expensive so come on Morgan! Unfortunately the sets that I mentioned are my slow time winter project and only consist of a box of cut up metal and drawings at the moment. However you are welcome to the sketch of my originals if you need it. They may be adaptable to your car. However that said if I had a four seater I would really want that air system!

Many thanks for that. Was just thinking is the rear suspension setup of the 4/4 4 seater 1999 to 2003? Does it have the same issues?

Mine's a 2000 and I've not had any issues (yet) I do know that Andy at Lifes Motors has a 2005 roadster 4 seater and he's had issues - had to change the springs to Mulfab and a pan hard rod or anti-tramp (one or the other or both) so my guess is that its an issue with the newer shape 4 seater which came in in 2005.

Stewart, Do you know how many leaf your springs are and what shocks are fitted? It's my understanding that the MulFab leaf springs are the same as what the factory fit to the new cars. Thanks, Will

Thanks, Will I will look tonight and find out although I wouldn't compare my 2000 4 seater to yours as the post 2005 shape had a longer back behind the rear seats and the spare wheel sits much further back as well behind the rear wheels so the cantilevered weight is going to be much different. Plus the hood assembly will be further back as well This increased weight or the weight being further back may have been the problem on the early 2005 models - only guessing though

I've just done a quick sketch to show the difference between the two The chassis, wings and rear seat positions are very similar but the post 2005 extends further to the rear and the spare wheel is sitting much further back behind the wheel I know it doesn't look much but the cantilever weight will be significant

In 2005 there were six leaves on the two Seaters. By 2011 there were four, and a batch of below par springs, which I had on Mr Bumble. I changed to Mulfab four seater four leaf springs and they transformed the ride.
Ps. Nice sketches.

We had the same ugly fight with Morgan and their bodgy attempts at a fix. Mine was a 2011 4/4 so you can imagine how angry we were to find out later they knew about the problem all along - Disgusting Hi Harald, I too had a 2008 +4 4 seater, it had 2 sets of rear springs under warranty before I had a major row with the dealer and MMC and they (MMC) finally admitted they knew of a rear spring issue with supply and were changing suppliers.
