Unless they made you aware at the time in writing of these order changes costs, then I think it may be worth you having a word with trading standards.
I didn’t receive anything in writing from MMC. The order process is very much in the hands of the dealership and it would appear the Factory see it as their fault. Mention was made of charges for changes when initially discussing specification but as these were made immediately I naively didn’t see it as a problem. I would reiterate that I place no blame with BHM for what happened.
When I purchased my 2013 4/4 I made a colour change once I received a paint chip from the Factory and this was after the specification had been submitted. This was not a problem.
What annoys me is being told by MMC in the first instance that changes could not be made under any circumstances, when they clearly could and would if a price was paid, then not having my letters to the Chairman and Managing Director (particularly as his association with company is a long one) answered. This tells me I am not valued as a customer.
Yes at the end of the day I know only have myself to blame, so if you’re considering a new purchase, unless you’ve got bottomless financial pockets do get it right first time!
And thanks to all for the kind comments about our Last of the Line!
