Have you looked on here North Coast 500 You really need to north coast where the roads are quieter and more scenic.

The NC 500 is very high up my to do list!
The arrival of the Puppy has put it on hold for this year:(((

The NC 500 is on my middling list. As a possible at some point.

Go in May just before the midges arrive. The west coast is brilliant. The roads are surprisingly good. We went in 2015 in the Roadster with the unmodified sump. No problems. Check the wet weather gear works though.
Skye was our favourite.

Scotland has some beautiful roads - if you get to the Isle of Lewis head south to Harris it is full of magic.
The Isle of Barra is another gem.

Just back from doing most of the NC500 with Crunchie in his Plus 8, including driving up from Berkshire (and back too!) we did just under 2,500 miles in 9-days! No golf or fishing, just great driving on some mainly good roads, brilliant scenery (as the guys say Applecross is a must), the only downside are the many stone chips on our cars! Some roads have many surface pebbles and stones on them!  Oh and I do need a new windscreen too but at least that is covered on the insurance, despite this I would recommend you plan a trip there soon ... P.S. Forgot Skye and the Talisker Distillery!

OK Day 5
A9 Dornoch to Inverness
B9006 through the Culloden Battlefield to Croy
B9091 and B9090 through Cawdor (Good Castle)
Then either use the B9101 to join the A939 and head soth via Dava to Grantown on Spey and from there to Tomintoul OR if you have time head further East from Nairn on the A96 to Forres and take the B9010 south towards Dallas but take the minor road through Branchill to Cardhu then the B9102 and cut through to Carron and out to the A95 you can then either go over the hill via Edinvillie to Glen Rinnes and then Glenlivet or take the A95 to Ballindalloch (another great castle) then to Glenlivet. From Glenlivet via Tomnavoulin to Tomintoul. From Tomintoul A939 over the Lecht to Corgarf and follow towards Ballater and Braemar. Go right at Gairnsheil Lodge on the B976 to Crathie and then Braemar on the A93. Follow the A93 over tne Cairnwell to Glenshee. Keep on the A93 then take the B950 to Kirkmichael and then the A924 to Pitlochry. You will then have driven some of the best roads in the Northeast of Scotland Enjoy Wow that's impressive detail so I'll go for that. Nearly persuaded herself to use the 4/4 instead of the evoque

And lots of cleaning off of tar when we got home.😕😟 Interesting you should say that - about 10 years ago we were on Lewis and on the Sunday an Exeter firm was doing the Islands whitelining post dressing. I could barely believe the logistics of the job but clearly it worked for both parties. p.s. Caledonian MacBrayne do a hopscotch ferry ticket up or down through the Hebrides and you chose your own pace of travel, a nice way to see the Islands. https://www.calmac.co.uk/article/2656/Hopscotch-19-Coll--TireeNo connection other than a happy customer with over 20 years of travelling with them.
