My impression of the new lamp position is bordering on moronic to deceptive. Because the lamps are so close together along with the signal lamps, the impression at night facing this car head on will be of a much narrower car than it really is.

Yes, technically and legally, it is a motorcycle. Practically it is a car made with motorcycle parts. The wide lamps used originally let oncoming traffic know that it was a car and gave clearance accordingly.

As long the car is moving and you have the fans installed (I do not!) overheating should not be a problem. If nothing else move the turn signals much further out board and pair them with some LED running lamps to give onlookers enough information to avoid this car.

I think the aftermarket in headlamp arms that push the lamps outward will be killer and I would be very surprised by anyone keeping this new design as stock. This is what happens when bureaucrats design cars...

Hear Hear Michael, we wonder with all these bureaucratic policies in place and on the horizon just how far the pendulum will swing before it returns back to normality.

Sorry, but probably never. Bureaucracies never come back to correct themselves. They exist to perpetuate themselves. Once an idiotic rule is in place it will continue to exist in perpetuity.

Only thing I have seen that does change this formula is a screaming revolution which throws everything out and starts over. Of course, while that sounds great on paper, the carnage and gore is horrendous and the little problem of headlamp placement becomes a silly little trifle as one is desperately trying to survive on the street with little access to food, water, shelter and all the good things we take for granted...

Not too hopeful here...

My dealer has a new one with the light bar in front of the engine. He moved the headlamps to their original positions and put fog lamps on the new bar. Not a bad look.

That's what my thought was for the bar as well after repositioning the headlights. I'd be interested in seeing that too.

Left mine there for some ECU detective work. I'll see if I can sneak a shot when I go to retrieve it.
