I'm currently on my second exhaust bracket on the nearside and just waiting to get my third fitted on driver's side and I've not even covered 3k miles yet!

Just wondering if anybody can match or beat this and why aren't Morgan doing something about what is clearly an inadequate part for the job?

Nope, can't match you on the number, but having broken one bracket in 1,000 miles, I'm going through them at the same rate.

They're clearly a regular service item :-/

in the 70/80" we have the same problem with buggy & KitCar, we solve it by adding some softness any exhaust specialist can solve that easily

I looked underneath yesterday after the LHS silencer had been adjusted away from rattling on the underneath and the bracket bolts are rusting already so this and nearness to ground level is no doubt the cause - need to get KH to get some stainless bolts.

Once it happened to my, my Milan dealer took the braket off, built a brand new one and soldered to the existing one before refitting it. And, to be on the safe side, he did the same on the other side even if it was not broken. Yet.
This was in June 2015 roughly. They are still there, and working. laugh
First time it gets lifted I'll take a pic.

A fellow Plus 8 owner kindly made me aware of the issue a few months back. Not experienced any issue myself but had them replaced as a precautionary measure. No issues thereafter. Sounds just as glorious.

Mine now just over 6000 miles and no problems to date apart from a vibration which was quickly adjusted.

The cars in for a service in a few weeks time at the factory I'll ask them to check.

ah, so the brackets cope with the notorious bumps'n'jolts in the fens... but not yon scots roads, or wiltshire & dorset?!

I don't know it survived a recent 1000 miles in Scotland. Any how where I live the local council have install speed bumps that are like Scottish mountains. I heard they're going to have to install red flashing lights on them as they're a threat to the low flying military aircraft we have locally.

Problem is Chester that if you introduce some 'flexibility', which I assume you mean by 'softness', the fixing point is so close to the cut out in the wings that the exhaust would constantly rattle on the edges of the cut-out as indeed it does when the brackets fail...
