Regrettably, it appears that Morgan is not going to do anything unless they are forced. This is exactly the problem we faced in Australia. You can simply accept this OR contact the relevant consumer/motoring authorities with a concise, detailed account of your safety and consumer issues. An initial phone call is useful to establish a contact as well as your rights and the obligations of Morgan. This is very much a last resort and one we were forced to take “downunder” but the response was immediate, effective and enduring. I don’t think you have been left with much alternative. Sorry. Morgan thinks if they wait long enough we'll all die---and no more problem. The "squeaky" door doesn't even seem to work here I'm still waiting for a definitive answer to my cracks and its been months.

The dealer spoke to Mark Evans yesterday & my car 'should take a couple of weeks to repair'. I hope that is true as that will be 7 weeks its been off the road.

Tim, while the wait is frustrating I'm sure Morgan will do everything to get your car back in perfect order ready for the summer. Fingers crossed... Unfortunately it seems that the solution adopted is not always the best or most obvious. I also fail to understand why, when a change to resolve a problem for one market is found, it is not adopted for the entire production.

Well Gents, Morgan has finally offered to replace my chassis free of charge----provided I pay the freight back and return from California to Malvern, sigh, such a deal. I've posted about my 2012 with a big crack on the front down tube. Freight should only cost me $3 or $4 thousand dollars each way, or only $8,000 to correct an engineering design fault especially after I fit Morgan's "upgrade" frame triangle to their suggestion. The reason for the frame "upgrade" was to prevent our frames from breaking. Prior to my fitting the "upgrade" I had NO frame cracks! Sadly much of the shine of my fun little car is gone.

Good lord. That's just depressing man. Don't suppose they'd be amicable to shipping a chassis and getting the work done here. Just seems like kicking you while you're down.

That's just not right, for what is an obvious, and acknowledged design and safety defect not due to normal wear and tear or racing usage.

Morgan are well out of order. If the thing had been designed correctly and the correct materials used in the first place, this cracking problem would not even be an issue. The fault is totally theirs and it is only because many of us do not want to see them take a big hit that it has not been taken to higher authorities as per the suggestion of OZ4/4. I think , as GTG suggested, MMC should ship a new chassis over to your dealer and pay to have them fit it for you.

One might consider taking this to their twitter feed. The only reason I created a twitter account in the first place was because a company I was trying to deal with was absolutely not responding to me. Within a couple days of taking it to their twitter account though I had someone contacting me. Might be worth airing it a little more publicly than the TM forum.
