On two cars with fly by wire throttles, there has been a procedure for resetting the throttle potentiometer after the car has been stood for a while. Usually involves turning on the ignition anf flooring the throttle a few times without starting the engine. The Lotus was a bugger for losing that throttle setting and it always had the effect you describe.

I must admit that the Mustang we rented in the states didn't show this issues and early mornings could be down to 4c

Fantastic. it only had the 4 cylinder 2.3 l engine but it went well in track mode.
Very comfortable and very quiet with the hood up the one time we used it for 10 mins in the rain. We were very lucky with weather though some Americans thought us odd with it down in 11 c weather.

It had heated & cooled seats. When we hit the high 20s & low 30s the cooling was very welcome.

So exactly like twin Webers. Two presses squirts in the fuel and away she goes. Or have we moved on here! farmer

Thanks John.
I said to one of my Prescott colleagues (he with several Morgans and other cars including a '65 Mustang) that the 2.3 would be enough, but he insists only the V8 will do... smile
Maybe I'll have a closer look when the used market starts to show them... grin2
