Can not offer opinion as why they did not answer emails, I have them to be a very friendly and help bunch although there is not many with the experience in the area you were interested.
We have 5kms of gravel before sealed road it takes about 20mins to cover each way. Most of our shire sealed roads are too rough to exceed 80kms (50MPH).
