Hi,
I've got an annoying rattle which I suspect to be coming from one ore more side turnbuckles. Could anyone confirm these to be well sprung/firm when new or are they always a little loose?

They are firm when new and are cheap to replace just ensure the replacement turnbuckle is not plastic and chrome coated, get the nickle and chrome plated ones
The screws holding the turnbuckle to the car are chrome on brass and as such can be weak and snap off so be careful.
Turnbuckles are available in 2 'heights' so as to take 1 or 2 layers of tonnau / hood
ALSO worth thinking about a gasket under the turnbuckle as unfortunately morgan are happy with metal on metal

That through me! I was trying to think where there was a turnbuckle on the mog! Then to realise they were turnbutton fasteners, I wonder if someone in the past missheard the name and then it became accepted in common use?

I've been buying similar fasteners from J Clarke Marine ( https://www.jclarkemarine.com/). Typically on ebay, because it's so ridiculously easy. Their very speedy service and quality have always impressed. Speed especially since they are in Northern Ireland, with that extra water to cross. (No link other than a satisfied etc.) I'm sure Woolies Trim are good too but I've yet to give them a try.

I have given up these turn buckles, snaps, etc. Now use "TENAX" (British not German). Expensive but neat and they work.
