Stick to lower deck, staff are helpful. I've got a S1 Aero, never had any problems with ground clearance apart from the back exhaust boxes, always grounding on country roads etc. despite new rear shocks etc.

Strongly recommend getting a Wolf (cain) sump plate fitted , peace of mind plus you won't worry if you scrape anything . There have been various cases of sumps being seriously damaged already , don't go there !

No issue on the hairpins - ever - in the Supersport. Tarmac is much better in Switzerland than Italy so enjoy it while you are there.

If you have problems nearer Zurich I can put you in contact with my mechanic.

Thanks, I guess will need to take care once on the train to avoid curbing. Will be in Stresa the week after the Swiss meeting, pure coincidence.

Will post some pictures once I have the car back from getting some fettling. It is the Williams demonstrator which I'm sure you will be familiar with.

Anywhere in France or Italy watch out for lumps of iron in the centre of double hung gates. I've hit a couple with the cross member under the gearbox on the Plus 4 and I pulled a strip of steel right out of the ground under a gateway in Sicily. Made me glad that the Plus 4 doesn't have a low sump.

Hi Ron

Glad to see you here :-)

+1 for the Wolf sump plate - it gives fabulous peace of mind.

I've driven the route Napoleon (tho not in the Aero) & the boutique twists of the B3081 by Shaftesbury - one of the UK's twistiest roads, without any difficulty. B3081

Ah yes - Forum Hotel Pompeii, entrance arch and also car park bollards. Bang in the middle of a narrow run so little room to wiggle to each side around them.

It was the lower lock plate for the two gates which meet in the centre. Then the pop up bollards to block spare spaces. I could not get over them due to the thin entrance between poles.

You raise a very good point Peter. Not something we tend to come across in the UK.

Except at some country houses, in the main - Frank 4x4 suffered a damaged sump on one of those centre gate stops...
Ah, and one of the side exits from RAF something in Wiltshire?, where Sprinty suffered similar...
