Hi

How much work do you guys do on your three wheeler? I have had quite a few teething issues with mine but living very close to the factory means they are on hand to help sort stuff out (sure they would prefer me to go through a dealer)

Do you tinker regularly or generally leave stuff until service time?

Bought my three wheeler as a introduction to purchasing an aero 8 but the nature of hand build as put me off spending so much on a car I dont want to be chasing the next nasty rattle etc.

Perhaps im to anal with strange noises.

phoenixred,

I don't think you can be too careful with strange noises, the secret with Morgans is perhaps to isolate those that are really strange and put up with those that are normal ( but easily fixed ) oldgit

Do a lot of tinkering and noise chasing on mine.
Someone had posted a link to drawings of the various parts of the three wheeler but I can no longer find them

Recently chased down a rattle / vibration that turned out to be a missing ground bolt and nut in the driver side headlight. At a certain rpm the ground wire would buzz as the terminal touched the headlight bucket. Was driving me crazy.

Am working to eliminate a buzz coming from the interior panel on the passenger side. Could use the drawings before I start pulling that apart.

I concur, that was part of the appeal as you can actually work on M3Ws. If you could not sort out minor issues yourself you would likely be going to the dealer a lot. Mine is two hours away.

I let the dealer handle all repairs as when it comes time to part ways, "all maintenance preformed at dealership with receipts" goes much farther than "tinkered on it myself".

That's fine if you have a dealer close by or time to spare. My nearest dealer is a 180 mile round trip. I'll bring it in for the 1000 mile service, mainly to watch how its done. Besides, I don't ever intend to sell, so dealer receipts aren't an issue.

Closest dealer is 145 miles. That's 290 round trip. I'll be doing all the work myself. Not worried about resale value with dealer receipts for 2 reasons:

1. I don't plan to sell.
2. As long as you keep detailed logs of all work done, that's just as good as "dealer receipts" and will also save you a ton of money because everybody knows that dealers gouge you for every little maintenance issue!
